Wayfarers Shopping Arcade is a well known arcade off Lord Street in Southport. The arcade was first opened in 1898 and is now a grade II listed building. The arcade is, possibly, the finest stained glass arcades in the United Kingdom and has a spectacular victorian glass domed and vaulted roof.

During the late 1970's and early 1980's the arcade suffered from neglect and the state of disrepair meant that the second level was closed. However Wayfarer's Arcade has now been full restored and the two levels are now home to an exciting range of specialist shops and a number of high street names and department stores.

Central to the new Wayfarers Arcade is the statue of Red Rum. Red Rum was a famous winner of the UK Grand National at Aintree Racecourse. The famous horse was trained regularly along the beach at Southport by his trainer Ginger McCain and could often be seen in the early hours of the morning.
